The Geo-Institute's 2012 annual congress focuses on the "State of the Art and Practice in Geotechnical Engineering" and will be held in the beautiful San Francisco Bay area. It will provide an unprecedented opportunity to review the geotechnical practice and research advances, as well as an exciting forum for the integration of practice, research and education in geotechnical engineering. This conference represents a unique opportunity for geotechnical engineers from around the globe to advance their professional career and goals and uncover the latest and most beneficial knowledge and technologies. Registrants should expect, as always, a comprehensive technical program, numerous networking and social events and an extensive Exhibit Hall, but also an outstanding selection of keynote State of the Art and Practice speakers on selected geotechnical topics. Panel discussion and seminar sessions will also be a part of this outstanding conference.

co-organised by the European Technical Committee ERTC-12 on the Application of Eurocode 8 and by The Italian Geotechnical Association

The main aim of the 12th Baltic Sea Geotechnical Conference is to provide a forum for an intensive transfer of ideas and experiences with other engineering and research groups. Significant contributions from industry are encouraged and hence the ultimate aim is to bring together state-of-the-art research in Geotechnics in maritime engineering with current industrial experiences.

La conferenza ISL2012 tratterà la tematica delle frane e dei pendii stabilizzati con il principale scopo di presentare lo stato dell’arte e della pratica ingegneristica oltre che i più  recenti approfondimenti tecnici ed applicativi finalizzati alla salvaguardia della società.
 
La conferenza si svolgerà a Banff, situata nel cuore del Parco Nazionale di Banff - patrimonio mondiale dell’UNESCO - e prevede visite tecniche e sopralluoghi in siti del Canada Occidentale e delle Montagne Rocciose

The Conference will focus on the following main themes:
1. Experimental soil behaviour, including laboratory and site advances in the techniques for the analysis of the hydro-thermo-chemo-mechanical behaviour of unsaturated soils; 2. Theoretical, constitutive, numerical and physical modelling; 3.Engineering applications and case histories, including soil-environment interaction, soil-structure interaction, monitoring on site and case histories.

Deadline for abstracts submission: Mai 8th  2011.

Abstracts must be submitted through the Conference website.

 The 46th USA  Rock Mechanics Symposium  encompasses all aspects of rocks mechanics, rock engineering and geomechanics.
